Mei Foo Sun Chuen was the first large scale private housing estate in Hong Kong and at the time of completion, the 99 tower complex was considered the largest private housing development in the world.
Before & After
Due to the building was completed in 1972. The design intent is focus on the modernization of the unit interior condition to making each spaces were function and aesthetic in contemporary standard.
Living and dining room
Incorporating and the use of the false ceiling, bulkhead and built-in furniture is the key method of to improve the space proportion and enhance the storage for the space.
Kitchen
Incorporating the wall cabinet and reforming the base cabinet for modern kitchen appliances installation. Green is the major colour of space and selected lighting to refresh the atmosphere. The kitchen is became more relax, warm and comfort.
Final Result
Through the renovation, the existing traditional Chinese console table, vase, idol and painting is became the focal point of this residential unit and blended with modern oriental lighting fixture and loose furniture, such as chair or table.
